Senior leaders recently met to discuss how agentic AI is reshaping work, teams, and operating models ahead of 2027. Three themes stood out:

• Value over activity: Organizations are moving from copilots to agentic workflows, but most are still early (47% piloting, 33% live in one or two functions). The biggest hurdles aren’t technical: measuring ROI and managing change tied at 50% each. Productivity now means time to value, quality, and customer outcomes, not more code or tickets, and AI shouldn’t automatically mean headcount cuts.
• A new equation for teams: Work is being rebalanced around human capability, AI capacity, and business context. AI could add 20-30% capacity, junior roles will lean toward judgement and ownership, and human strengths like empathy and relationships matter more.
• India’s evolving role: With GCCs projected to grow from about 1,400 to 5,000 in five years, the model is shifting from cost arbitrage to capability, complex engineering, and innovation.

The future of work isn’t human vs. AI. It’s how leaders design the right combination of both.
