India’s Global Capability Centers aren’t hiring the way they used to. Headcount used to be the goal. Now it’s capability. Nearly two-thirds of new GCC roles need AI skills, and demand for AI-related talent has grown about 45% year on year. Forward Deployed Engineer postings are up 1,000% in just 12 months.
We looked at more than 5,000 live openings and over 20,000 roles GCCs hired in the past year. The result shows who GCCs are hiring, what they pay, and where that talent lives. Teams are getting smaller and more senior. The old pyramid is turning into a diamond. And cities like Coimbatore, Ahmedabad and Kochi are becoming serious alternatives to Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
